EMPTY DECK COMPANY
'Charlie is both a naturally skilled dancer and an inquisitive, dedicated collaborator. When working on the first work-in-progress of Sequel at Theatre Royal Plymouth she brought great openness and curiosity to the thematic exploration as well as support to the devising process. Her movement practice is enabling of others of diverse ability and she has astute awareness of spatial dynamics. She has great strength as a dancer and is a joy to work with and watch in performance. SEQUEL
Empty Deck, Artistic Director Kay Michael took us on a journey to explore aspect of climate change and our natural world. Working with audio from conversations with local people and natural sounds of the Dartmoor environment, Kay worked with her 4 performers to create a phsyical landscape to her monologue. We choreographed content through contact improvisation and worked on Dartmoor developing movement phrases. The piece was present in the Lab as a piece in progress and was the second installation of Michael's exploration of climate change which she feels very strongly about.
